Focused On Your Moments

Wedding photography that feels like your day — not a photoshoot

Relaxed, natural wedding photography for couples who’d rather enjoy their day than spend hours posing.

It’s your time to shine—not to play mannequin. Your priority is to sip champagne and mingle with your guests, which is why I refuse to hold you hostage for hours. Instead, we’ll slip away for a swift ten minutes here and twenty minutes there. You get breathtaking, gallery-worthy portraits, and you’re back before anyone notices your glass is empty.

You don’t need to be good at photos

Most of my couples say the same thing:
“I feel awkward in front of a camera.” That’s completely normal.

I won’t make you pose for ages or do anything that feels unnatural. Instead, I’ll give you just enough direction to feel comfortable — then let things happen naturally.

The result? Photos that actually feel like you.

Abigail felt the same way before her big day, but here’s what she said after working with me on her wedding day:

What an amazing day! You were absolutely fantastic. We HATE our photos being taken, but by the end of it I felt like a model. You made me feel beautiful. Thank you so much for all you did for us. The photos are outstanding xxx”

Jaydee’s review is the epitome of what to expect from me!

5* is simply not enough to describe how amazing Paul was on and around our wedding day. He made everyone feel so comfortable in front of the camera. Paul made a huge effort to know and use the people in the wedding party’s name and at the end of the night made sure he said goodbye to all of these people.
Paul was a calming presence throughout the day but also joined in on the dancefloor, getting in with the party to get the best pictures. So many of the wedding guests have privately asked about how we found Paul and have commented on how great he was.
A personal thank you to Paul for saving the wedding morning when the buttons on my dress were not co-operating and Paul came through with a crochet tool and helped my MOH do them up. He saved a lot of tears and stress!
The preview photos he has sent through are so beautiful and we’re so excited to see all the others. I can’t thank or recommend Paul enough, we couldn’t have asked for a better photographer for our wedding day!

“We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding photographer than Paul.

From the very beginning he was brilliant. He was always quick to respond to my many questions and queries and incredibly helpful throughout the whole process. Planning a wedding can feel overwhelming at times but Paul really helped me feel prepared and reassured ahead of the day.

On the day itself Paul was amazing. Calm, organised and somehow everywhere at once without ever being intrusive. He captured all the photos we wanted and so many special moments we didn’t even realise were happening at the time. So many of our friends and family also commented on how friendly and fun he was to have around.

If you are looking for a wedding photographer, we could not recommend Paul more highly” – Rachel Loader

Hi, I’m Paul — the person behind PSS Photography.

I photograph weddings for people who don’t want their day to feel like a photoshoot.

If the idea of posing for hours makes your skin crawl, you’re in the right place.

This isn’t about perfect photos

Most of the couples I work with say the same thing:

“We’re awkward in front of the camera.”

Honestly? That’s completely normal.

You don’t need to know what you’re doing. You don’t need to “perform”. And you definitely don’t need to spend your wedding being pulled away from your friends and family for endless photos.

My approach is simple:

  • Keep things relaxed

  • Give just enough direction when needed

  • Let the real moments happen

The result is photos that feel like your day — not something staged.

What I’m actually there to do

Of course I’ll capture the big moments — the ceremony, the speeches, the first dance.

But the things people care about most afterwards are usually the bits they didn’t even realise were happening:

  • Your mates laughing during the speeches

  • Your nan tearing up during the ceremony

  • That chaos on the dance floor later on

That’s the stuff I’m always looking for.

A bit about me

I’m based in Sussex and photograph weddings across the UK.

I’m not going to turn up and boss people around or make things awkward. I’m more likely to blend in, have a laugh with your guests, and quietly capture everything as it unfolds.

Guest always ask me if I’m friends with the couple or how long have I known them for, I love that!

If that sounds like your kind of thing…

Then we’ll probably get on well.

What I find crazy is that a lot of photographers will finish just after the first dance, for some that’s about 7:30pm. This means during the summer months you won’t be able to take advantage of that sunset, a magical dance in the rain, some cool light painting or that beautiful golden light. You will love this time of the evening as it’s the perfect moment to step back for 30 minutes and take in the atmosphere of your venue. Listen to the joyful murmur of your guests as they revel in the entertainment and experiences you’ve thoughtfully arranged for them. The photographs we capture during this time will be the ones you will put up on your wall.

I will be around to capture your evening guests enjoying the party. I usually finish when the same 5 people have been on the dance floor for the past 30 minutes. I am pretty sure you already know who these Danny Zuko and Sandy wannabes are don’t you? – “summer dreams ripped at the seams, But, those  summer niiiigghhhtttts, Tell me more, Tell me more”

Paul was brilliant from start to finish and we would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.
Paul spent all day with us, he made us feel completely at ease and had a great sense of humour. For a couple who do not enjoy being in front of the camera, Paul had us enjoying the experience. He has a way of capturing the emotion in peoples faces and all those candid, natural moments that we would have otherwise missed.
We have just received the photos from our day and they are absolutely stunning. We cannot thank Paul enough for capturing the most important day of our lives and giving us photos and memories to cherish for a lifetime.

Getting to know each other is very important when it comes to photographing your wedding. I will be with you most of the day so its important we have fun and get on. A pre wedding shoot is perfect for this, you will get used to having me around with a camera and this will help you be super chilled on your wedding day. Another bonus from this shoot, is that you can use your images for save the date cards. I always like to meet you at least once before your wedding and one of these meetings will be at your venue. Whilst at the venue we can have a walk through so you know what will happen and when. We can also have a chat about places you might like to have some photographs taken. I am always here so please just ask me any questions that you may have.

I will be there from the initial dressing to the final goodbye.

We’ll make the day flow for you, watch the clock, fill your empty glass and fluff your dress. You’re in great hands because I go above and beyond. You will be well looked after. You will have a timeline for your day this will probably be agreed between you and your venue, I like to be involved in this a little just to make sure you get time for the photographs that you want. If you are having bridal prep I would turn up about 2 hours before you are getting married. It’s best if you can get your hair and make up done first just so you have time for a first look and some beautiful portraits. After the ceremony is when we will get the family group shots that you would like and then we go off and have about half an hour for the two of you to get your shots. I will be there for the speeches, cake cutting and first dance. If there is a sunset, rain, stormy skies or you want to do some cool light paining this is when we would do it. After that it’s all about the dance floor now with you and your guests having a dance off and pretending to be kung fu fighters. I don’t finish at a set time, I finish when the same 4 people have been on the dance floor for the last hour.

You have spent a long time planning your wedding down to every last detail – wedding favours, rings, table decorations, seating plan, flowers, the cake and so much more. I know this is important to you and so, it is important to me to make sure I photograph that for you as well.

Yes I currently offer 3 packages with albums and slideshows and 3 packages with just digitals. I also offer a bespoke service. For availability, or more information please get in touch.

Photographs are an amazing way to capture and share memories for years to come. Having a slide show of the highlights of your wedding day is the best way to preserve the emotions. That’s why it is included in my top 3 wedding packages. This is a gift to say thank you for choosing me as your wedding photographer, I really do appreciate it.

Hopefully you will still turn up and we will still have fun! I can still shoot in the rain and actually one of my favourite images was shot during a rainy wedding. I will come armed with dome and rainbow umbrellas, we can find some shelter and be creative inside too. It’s really nice to have a good mixture of shots and with my lighting we can create so really cool stuff. So grab your wellies and I’ll see you outside in two minutes.

That’s a great question and luckily the answer is relatively simple, I have an arrangement with a few other photographers and where possible we will step in and help each other out. If they are more expensive than me I will pay the difference. I have never had to use this arrangement yet but it’s nice to know it’s there.

A few weeks after your wedding day production will start on your wedding pictures. I know the anticipation for seeing your images can get too much so if I haven’t already I will drop a few images on social media for you as a sneak peek. between 3-6 weeks I hope to have your images finished, I will then send you a link to your online gallery. You can share your gallery link with who ever you like, the more the merrier. If you have an album as part of your package this will then be sent to the printers. It would be great to catch up again, so when I receive your album I will arrange to meet up with you both to pass this on – coffee, wine, beer or gin? My treat to say thank you.

Yes of course, you will have an online password protected gallery where you, friends and family can view, download and purchase prints and canvases.

I’m sure you have plenty more questions.. let’s talk them through!
